贊比亞總統薩塔在英國因病去世。

贊比亞政府正式宣佈，贊比亞總統邁克爾·薩塔10月28日晚在倫敦去世。77歲的薩塔因病本月赴英國，正在倫敦治療。贊比亞官方電視台宣佈了這一消息。薩塔近期因病未能在聯合國大會發表講話，並在該國舉行慶祝獨立50週年的活動前兩天被迫離開贊比亞。當時，贊比亞宣佈國防和司法部長埃德加·倫古代理總統職務。贊比亞將在90天內舉行總統選舉。（編譯：立行/責編：蕭爾）
