肯辛顿宫宣布，剑桥公爵和夫人的新生小公主命名为夏洛特·伊丽莎白·戴安娜。这位新生的英国王位第四号继承人的官方封号是剑桥公主陛下。此前一直有熟悉英国王室事务的人士估计，剑桥公爵（威廉王子）如果生女儿很可能会使用他已故母亲戴安娜王妃的名字以示纪念。BBC王室事务特派员亨特报道称，女王伊丽莎白二世陛下和王室主要成员在小公主名号公布前提前获得告知。当被问到小公主名字是否有特别意义时，肯辛顿宫发言人表示："一切尽在不言中。"（编译/责编：晧宇）
