【大紀元2015年05月31日訊】卡爾加里人道機構官員在東北區的一戶住宅內沒收了1,123只寵物，其中大部分是寵物鼠。沒收的寵物中包括1,037只寵物鼠、80條魚、3隻狗和3隻貓，但有257只動物因為受傷而不得不被安樂死。官員表示這是卡爾加里迄今為止發現的最大宗動物沒收事件。警方還沒有對屋主起訴，但人道機構官員說類似的處罰包括最高罰款兩萬元、終生禁止擁有寵物等，這要根據調查結果才能裁定。
