　　据台湾媒体报道，台湾基隆一名70岁的刘姓老翁日前去台中旅游时，不小心失足跌落山谷，警方获报后第5天才通过老翁的手机铃声，找到奄奄一息的刘翁。好在老翁使用的旧款诺基亚手机电池续航力超强，他才得以捡回一命。
　　据报道，这名刘姓老翁身材略胖，有轻微失智。警方接获通报后，立刻通过手机基地台定位，查知老翁可能位于台中头柜山附近，但山区基地台涵盖范围达半径2.5km，且手机信号断断续续，搜救工作面临很大困难，警方动员了250人搜寻4天仍无所获。
　　直到25日，警方在头柜山附近的道路上发现打滚的痕迹，拨打老翁手机发现有微弱的铃声，循着声源才找到虚弱的老翁。老翁获救后说，"这几天都没有进食，只喝山泉水度日，还好旧款手机电力强，才能捡回一命。"
