太陽能飛機完成飛越美國首段航程

一架完全由太陽能作為動力的飛機完成了飛越美國的第一段旅程。
名為「太陽動力」（Solar Impulse）的太陽能飛機星期五（5月3日）清晨從加州舊金山起飛，18小時後在亞利桑納州鳳凰城降落。
在未來幾周之內，太陽能飛機將途經達拉斯、聖路易斯、華盛頓特區和紐約等地飛越美國。
「太陽動力」的翼距和空中客車A340一樣，但重量只有1.6噸。
環球飛行
太陽能飛機已經完成過歷時26小時的晝夜飛行，項目團隊的目標是在2015年實現環繞地球的飛行。
「太陽動力」在美國舊金山當地時間星期五早晨6:12起飛，到星期六凌晨00:30在鳳凰城降落。
也就是說，有數個小時的飛行是在黑暗中進行的，飛機完全靠自己搭載的鋰電池陣列儲存的能量來推動螺旋槳。
在白天的時候，太陽能飛機靠機翼上方12,000個太陽能電池提供動力。
