中國出生的魏尚進將擔任亞開行經濟學家

哥倫比亞大學的金融和經濟學教授魏尚進擔任亞洲開發行的首席經濟學家，魏尚進將領導經濟研究局並且還擔任亞開行評論經濟問題的發言人。
魏尚進這位華人經濟學家將負責關於亞太地區面臨發展挑戰的政策研究。他將同國際研究界密切合作，負責亞開行對亞太地區經濟趨勢預測的主要出版物《亞洲發展展望》和《亞太地區主要指標》。
魏尚進說，亞開行是亞太地區主要的發展伙伴，能夠領導亞開行的經濟學團隊令他感到激動。
魏尚進出生在中國，畢業於上海復旦大學。
魏尚進後來留學美國，分別獲得賓夕法尼亞州立大學經濟學碩士學位和加州大學伯克利分校商業管理碩士。其後又獲得加州大學伯克利分校經濟學博士學位。
