橫跨歐亞大陸 土耳其海底隧道啟用

馬爾馬拉隧道從博斯普魯斯海峽下面穿過。

世界首條橫跨歐洲與亞洲的海底隧道周二（29日）正式啟用，把土耳其伊斯坦布爾的亞洲和歐洲海岸連接起來。
穿越博斯普魯斯海峽的馬爾馬拉隧道的建成通車典禮選擇在了土耳其共和國建國90週年紀念日。
據記載，奧斯曼帝國蘇丹曾在1860年首先提出建立這樣一條隧道的設想，而土耳其現任總理埃爾多安一直是這項工程的積極倡導者。
馬爾馬拉隧道全長13.6公里，水下部分1.4公里，具有抗地震設計，總造價40億美元，其中日本投資佔10億美元。
乘火車去北京
馬爾馬拉隧道是根據附近的馬爾馬拉海命名的，字面意思是「馬爾馬拉鐵路」。
BBC在當地的記者說，土耳其政府希望這條穿越博斯普魯斯海峽的新通道能夠最終發揮重要的商貿作用。
從理論上講，這條隧道會使得從倫敦乘火車經伊斯坦布爾去北京成為可能。
在當地的記者說，伊斯坦布爾是世界上最大的城市之一，有1600萬人口，其中大約200萬人每天經由目前的兩座跨海大橋穿越海峽，造成嚴重的交通擁堵。
當地政府官員說，馬爾馬拉隧道的建成通車將使擁堵大為緩解。
