起落架被夾在兩座建築之間

紐約警方說，他們發現了一個飛機的起落架，據信是2001年911事件中一架飛機上的。
這個起落架上波音的編號仍清晰可見，被發現夾在離世貿大樓原址不遠的兩座建築之間。
測量員星期三在檢查曼哈頓一座建築時發現了這個起落架。
當局已經將當地作為犯罪現場處理，並將很快決定是否過濾泥土以檢查是否仍有人的遺骨。
2001年9月11日美國本土發生連串自殺式恐怖襲擊事件。19名基地組織恐怖分子劫持了四架民航客機。
劫持者使其中兩架飛機分別衝撞紐約世界貿易中心雙塔，造成飛機上的所有人和在建築物中的許多人死亡。
兩座建築均在兩小時內倒塌，並導致臨近的其他建築被摧毀或損壞。
劫機者還迫使第三架飛機撞向位於弗吉尼亞州阿靈頓縣的五角大樓。
在劫機者控制第四架飛機飛向華盛頓特區後，部份乘客和機組人員試圖奪回飛機控制權。最終第四架飛機於賓夕法尼亞州索美塞特縣的鄉村尚克斯維爾附近墜毀。
四架飛機上均無人生還。
